\n \tNauta Design, the design genius behind the world\u2019s largest and most famous superyacht Azzam, always strives to conceive new projects with real client feedback in mind. Its latest concept, the Nauta 54m Wide, is no exception.
\n In response to requests from clients looking for higher degrees of spaciousness onboard, the Nauta 54m Wide strikes the perfect balance between comfort as a true family yacht and freedom to explore\u00a0intimate bays and\u00a0coves.\u00a0
\nMario Pedol, co-founder of the Milan-based studio, explains that \u2018instead of focusing on length overall, we widened the beam to 11 metres and developed an innovative general arrangement.\u2019
\nNauta\u2019s signature sleek and minimalist style is evidenced by low-slung exterior lines. This gives the effect of poise and grace, a difficult feat on a high-volume yacht of this size. But it is her unique interior layout that sets this steel and aluminium megayacht a cut above the rest.
\nEquipped with an innovative diesel-electric system which adds the extra benefit of greater flexibility in how the propulsion machinery is distributed, the 54m Wide\u2019s engine room is entirely located on the under-lower deck, freeing up a good degree of space on the lower deck.
\nThe 54m Wide also features Nauta\u2019s renowned \u2018The Island\u2019 system of folding platforms extending out from the beach club, to give a total surface area of 100 square metres. The innovative design feature, patented by Nauta last year, doubles up as a garage for water toys and a tender of almost 9m.\u00a0
\nThanks to the space-efficient location of the engine room, the 54m Wide accommodates for six ensuite guest cabins, of which one can be converted into a gym and spa according to requirements.\u00a0
\nCrew mess, laundry and accommodation for crew can all be found on the lower deck forward.\u00a0
\nThe main salon and dining room is the perfect embodiment of the 54m Wide\u2019s potential for spaciousness, at 78 square metres. Sliding glass side doors lead in on both sides, overlooking the open aft deck and double stairs leading down to the swim platform.\u00a0
\nThe same theme continues on the upper deck, where cabins for both the captain and first officer are situated as well as a ship\u2019s office behind the wheelhouse – a feature typically unheard of on a 54m superyacht.\u00a0
\nFinal highlights include an intimate chill-out space in the sky lounge, and 137 square metres of sundeck complete with hot tub, loungers and large bar \/ barbeque unit.\u00a0
\nThe naval architecture of the 54m Wide is by Francesco Rogantin-led studio NAMES. Initial engineering has already been confirmed.
