Burgess & BLUE Launch New Marine Conservation Programme
\n \tRenowned brokerage house Burgess is offering clients the chance to offset the environmental impact of their yachting activities by donating a Marine Conservation Fee. The Marine Conservation Programme, launched by Burgess in association with UK Charity Blue Marine Foundation (BLUE), gives clients the chance to donate to ongoing conservation projects in key yachting areas. <\/p>\n
The opt-in programme will offer clients the chance to offset their yachting footprint with the donation of a Marine Conservation Fee. The new initiative, devised by the Burgess CSR team, Burgess Blue Oceans, is to form a key part of the brokerage house\u2019s wider corporate social responsibility strategy.\u00a0
\nThe Burgess Strategic Board for its part has also agreed to donate proportionally to the impact of company travel.\u00a0
\nThe fee is calculated according to the business transaction, and goes directly to marine conservation projects in the Mediterranean and Maldives.\u00a0
\nBurgess CEO Jonathan Beckett says, \u2018I am excited to be able to offer this initiative to our clients. The team has been working hard to ensure we have a policy that is workable, transparent and supports an organisation that has done great work in their field. I am very hopeful for a high take up from our charter clients initially, followed by the other departments as we roll this out.\u2019
\nThe programme is the result of 12 months\u2019 hard work and planning by the Burgess Blue Oceans team.\u00a0
