Turquoise\u2019s 56m Blue II on Maiden Voyage
\n \tThe thrilling explorer yacht Blue II has left the Turquoise Yachts shipyard as she undertakes her maiden voyage. The 56m superyacht features unique styling by Hoek Design and becomes the latest gift to the yachting world by Turquoise Yachts.
\n Istanbul-based Turquoise Yachts has established a strong pedigree for building exciting superyachts, with the likes of 77m GO and 71m Talisman C among the Turquoise fleet. Blue II is a fitting addition to this fleet, a truly unique design which harnesses the aesthetic of a classic steam ship while delivering the performance of a modern explorer vessel. The classic and contemporary fusion of Blue II will have guests channelling their inner explorer but also enjoying the luxuries of a modern yacht.
\nThe Andr\u00e9 Hoek\u2019s studio is responsible for both the exterior and interior design of the superyacht, using the latest technology including CFD software to achieve this remarkable result. Blue II is a designated ice-class 1B yacht, built with the capability to explore Polar Regions and the Northwest passage. With this project, Turquoise has perfectly tapped into the growing desire of owners to venture further and farther than ever before, while delivering a high-quality yet different product.
\nBlue II has optimal sea keeping characteristics and is equipped with IMO Tier III diesel electric propulsion. At 785GT she is an impressively voluminous yacht, with guest spaces spread out over four decks to offer the ultimate cruising comfort. Her special features include generous under-deck storage for two sizeable tenders, and incredible functional space.
\nHoek Design collaborated with Vickers Studio and Dols Home to combine subtle classic elements with a contemporary flair. There are inviting and cosy interior spaces along with expansive open deck spaces to provide an ideal balance of onboard experiences for guests to get the most out of their time at sea.
\nFollowing her initial launch in May, Blue II is now on the seas and ready to spend her first summer season cruising the Mediterranean. Hopefully it isn\u2019t long before we see her ice-class capabilities put to the test on exciting adventures, and we look forward to following her travels.<\/p>\n
