Turquoise Yachts Launches 56m Explorer Vessel Blue II
\n \tTurquoise Yachts has announced the launch of its 56m explorer yacht, Blue II. Formerly known as Project Lombok, Blue II features an exceptional exterior design by Dutch naval architects Andr\u00e9 Hoek \u2013 combining functionality with a distinct aesthetic in one long-range vessel.
\n Built in the Turkish yard\u2019s esteemed Istanbul facility, Blue II\u2019s design recalls a classic steam ship \u2013 brought into the modern age with world-class features and explorer capabilities. Hoek Design used the latest CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) software, which ensures the highest level of hull efficiency, to give life to Blue II\u2019s classic profile with a contemporary flair. \u00a0\u00a0
\nBuilt to ice-class 1B standards, Blue II was designed with exploration of the furthest-flung regions of the globe in mind, namely the Polar Regions and Northwest Passage. She has capability for long range voyages at sea in the toughest of conditions, and is equipped with IMO Tier III diesel electric propulsion. Notable features on-board Blue II include a spacious garage under-deck for two large tenders.
\nBlue II\u2019s interior volume of 785 GT affords her optimal use of functional space over four decks, all while housing guests comfortably for extended stays.
\nHoek Design, who also penned the vessel\u2019s interior, matched her classic design with teak detailing \u2013 in cooperation with Vickers Studio and Dols Home. Bringing adventure into perfect harmony with luxury, Blue II features large, comfortable socialising spaces indoor and on deck.
\nDue to COVID-19 flight restrictions, Blue II\u2019s commissioning will take place remotely despite her launch going ahead. Her final delivery is on track and scheduled for early July.<\/p>\n
