Eighth Perini Navi Cup Postponed Until 2021
\n \tThe Perini Navi Cup has been postponed until 2021 as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Italian shipyard has confirmed.
\n The eighth edition of the Perini Navi Cup, reserved for Perini Navi yachts, was due to be held from 16th to the 19th September this year at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS). Instead, Porto Cervo and YCCS will welcome an exciting line up of sailing vessels to Sardinia in September of 2021.
\nThe decision was made in face of what the shipyard has labelled as \u201cthe persistent Covid-19 emergency and its expansion into almost every country in the world\u201d. The Perini Navi Cup is certainly not the only major yachting event to be affected in this way by Covid-19, with Palm Beach International Boat Show having to be held virtually this month.
\nLamberto Tacoli, Chairman and CEO of Perini Navi, admitted that pragmatism had to prevail when making a decision about the event. \u201cWe believe that postponing the Perini Navi Cup to 2021 is the best possible decision at the moment, although we made it with great regret,\u201d Tacoli said. \u201cWe would like to thank our Owners and Partners as well as the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and all our friends who had already confirmed their participation. We look forward to seeing you all next year for a Perini Navi Cup full of joy and enthusiasm.\u201d
